As industrial manufacturers seek increasingly energy-efficient machines with more throughput, machine builders turn to advanced automation products and solutions to meet their needs without sacrificing profit, time to market, or reliability. Implementing a mechatronic design approach that fosters collaboration between mechanical, electrical and controls engineers has been shown to reduce design risk and improve machine performance with minimized development costs.

Motion Analyzer software from Rockwell Automation helps machine builders obtain the full benefits of a mechatronic design approach by making it faster and easier to analyze, optimize, and select motion control systems. A cloud-based architecture and a wide range of tools and features helps users find the right set of products for their application. Motion Analyzer is secure, easier to use, more collaborative, making it better than ever.

Everyday more people are realizing the benefits of cloud technology and it’s easy to see why. Mobility, collaboration, security, and scalable computing power have driven users and companies both large and small to embrace the cloud. Companies such as SalesForce, AutoDesk, Wonderware, Adobe, SAP, Pfizer, Trek, GE, the Department of Defense, and more have relied on the cloud for critical applications with great success.

Information is no longer tied down to a single computer or location; it goes where you go. Whether using a Tablet, Smart Phone or PC, Windows, Mac or Linux, at your office or at the job site, you can pull up the Motion Analyzer files you need to design your machine.

Gone are the days of emailing file versions back and forth or having to maintain a shared folder with your fi les. Motion Analyzer allows users to work together on the same project, share comments and send notifications. Users can decide who should have access to the project and have the ability to limit the read or write access to only those who need it. Only users that you have explicitly shared a project with through their email address will have access to your project. This access can also be removed and project content will no longer be accessible to other users if shared access is removed. At all times, you have complete control over who has access to your information.

One key limitation of a personal computer is the amount of memory and CPU power that physically exists in the computer. In a cloud environment, computer processing power can be instantly scaled up allowing for much greater computing power. Every user will now be able to quickly analyze and find solutions for even the most complex applications.

As a Rockwell Automation customer, you trust Rockwell Automation to help keep your data secure and private. Rockwell Automation makes every effort to build and keep this trust so securing your data is a top priority. Motion Analyzer uses industry accepted best practices to safely store and handle your data. Using HTTPS/TLS 1.2 protocol, all connections are encrypted with 128-bit encryption.

This is the same security standard used for international banks. In addition, the data is stored in an encrypted database and passwords are salted and hashed prior to storage. Motion Analyzer also benefits from the security built-in to Microsoft’s Windows Azure platform. Through cutting edge security practices and clear policies on data privacy, Microsoft is a leader in data security. The Windows Azure platform has achieved the highest levels of international certification and accreditation, including ISO 27001.

Other accreditations include SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Cloud Security Alliance Cloud Controls Matrix, and the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards (CSS) Level 1. Windows Azure has also been approved for use by both United States and United Kingdom governments through the FedRAMP and Impact Level 2 accreditation. Windows Azure was the first public cloud platform to achieve a JAB P-ATO from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services across the federal government.
